H.264 - A Video Compression Codec, Not A DVR Model


H.264 is a popular video compression codec used to encode video footage into a file without losing quality.  To put this in a more simple statement, H.264 is used to make a file from your video footage while saving space.  More information about H.264 can be found on the Wikipedia article located here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC

 

Almost all of our DVR systems use this same technology, which is why you see it on the front of your DVR system.  The actual model or SKU number of your DVR is located on the bottom of the DVR system.  The label should look similar to the image below:

 

When using the KB, it is very important to know what your SKU number is.  Without this information, you will not be able to find solutions to the problems you are experiencing.
