In order to reset your Pivot, touch the top of the Pivot inside the indicator ring as shown for 10 seconds. The Pivot will then give a short series of tones, indicating that it has completed the factory reset.

Since the Pivot is reset by touching the top, you will want to avoid putting things on top of the Pivot. Setting something on top of the Pivot can cause it to accidentally reset.
